Public Hearings Estero United Methodist Church Farmers MarketThe applicant requested a Temporary Use Permit to operate a seasonal Farmers Market on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., from November 2016 through April 2017.

The Board approved this use with the conditions described in Resolution No. PZB 2016-09, as well as with the placement of a directional arrow at the market’s access road.  (Resolution)

The Estero United Methodist Church is located on the corner of Lords Way and US 41.

Via Coconut Point Place

via coconutThe Focus Development Group is applying to rezone 19.3 acres to Estero Planned Development to allow for 297 apartments and a maximum of 30,000 square feet of commercial and/or retail space.

This property, which runs one-half mile north to south, is located at the southwest corner of Corkscrew Road and Via Coconut Point.

Representatives of the applicant described the Mediterranean-style community which would include an oval green space at the center of the property to serve as a public amenity. (See Presentation)

Michele Mellgren, Mellgren Planning Group, an expert in zoning and land use planning, assisted the Village Community Development Department in reviewing this project.  (See Presentation)

Eleven members of the public addressed the Board, with 3 speaking in favor of the project and 8 opposed.

The applicant requested a continuance to October 18, 2016, to address some of the issues brought up at this meeting.

Shoppes at Coconut Trace

The Board continued this application to September 20, 2016, due to the length of the meeting.  The applicant is requesting the addition of commercial uses to their property at 22910 Lynden Drive.
