The Design Review Board (DRB) conducted its organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
Attorney Tony Pires, sitting in for Interim Village Attorney Burt Saunders, provided a brief overview of the Florida Sunshine Law and Public Records Law.
Vice-Mayor Howard Levitan gave a power point presentation on the Board’s procedures and processes.
The DRB will be responsible for reviewing the architectural and landscaping appearance of all new developments. The DRB will use ordinances based on those of the City of Boca Raton, which formed the basis of the Estero Community Planning Panel and the Estero Design Review Committee. Supplemental standards may be adopted in the future.
Public workshops will be conducted for each application prior to sufficiency, or decision-making meetings. The Council’s goal is to enhance public participation and will investigate the best method of notifying all communities impacted by matters brought before the Board.
The DRB is tentatively scheduled to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Village Hall at 21500 Three Oaks Parkway. The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015
