Mary Gibbs joined the staff of the Village of Estero in June 2015.

As Director, Community Development, she provides information to the public, builders and developers about the Village’s land use policies and procedures.

Gibbs, a nationally certified planner with an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University, supervises and coordinates the land use and building permit process with respect to all zoning, planning, building and development requests.

She also advises and assists the Village’s Planning and Zoning and Design Review Boards in all of their meeting preparations, hearings and deliberations. And, she serves as the principal liaison with the Lee County Department of Community Development with respect to all code enforcement activities.

Mary Gibbs retired from serving as the Director of Community Development for Lee County in May 2015. She worked with the County for 30 years, and during her tenure she had become known as a leader in one-stop permitting and other process efficiencies, including the expansion of electronic services.
