Drainage Update September 6, 2017

/, News/Drainage Update September 6, 2017

The Village staff and contractors worked over Labor Day weekend to address some of the flooding issues resulting from the record heavy rains which started on August 25.

Work included clearing out a number of the drainage ditches within the Village which had been identified by a stormwater engineering expert as adding to the flooding problems in some areas of Estero.

This has been a number one priority of all Village staff members, and we understand residents’ concerns.

Hurricane Irma

Southwest Florida will likely see impacts from Hurricane Irma. It’s too early to determine what those impacts will be, however, we’re asking residents to make sure they have their emergency supply kits available.

There is a hurricane guide and complete list of items you should have available, as well as local shelters, here: https://estero-fl.gov/hurricane-season-june-1-november-30/.
