Kudos to the many Estero residents who joined together again this season to help keep our roadways free of litter and looking beautiful.

Residents volunteered through three programs: FDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway Program, Lee County’s Adopt-A-Road Program and the Village of Estero’s Adopt-A-Road Program supported by Keep Lee County Beautiful. Keep Lee County Beautiful organizes year-round events throughout the county.
Engage Estero started their clean-up campaign through FDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway Program in October 2020. Now completing their 6th season, volunteers from over 50 communities and businesses have gathered 14 tons of litter along a 4.3-mile-long portion of US 41, starting from The Vines entrance down past Coconut Road. Marathon Fuel/Dos Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill has generously provided water and ice for these volunteers since the beginning of the program in 2020.
Estero participants in Lee County’s Adopt-A-Road Program include volunteers from Country Creek, River of Life Church, Massage Envy, Rookery Pointe/Heatherstone, Pelican Sound, RiverCreek, GS Team, and several FGCU organizations.

Since the Village program began in the fall of 2021, volunteers from Cascades of Estero have been clearing litter along the 1.7-mile stretch of Estero Parkway from Hwy 41 to Three Oaks Parkway. We also want to thank 7-Eleven on Estero Parkway for providing water to these volunteers.
Via Coconut Point and Williams Road were soon added. Volunteers from Cascades, Genova, Mirasol, Lighthouse Bay, Meadows of Estero, Shadow Wood, and Pelican Sound have logged in 291 man hours and collected 2,480 pounds (1.2 tons) of litter since the end of last season (April 2025).
In addition, many of our Estero residents pick up litter on their regular walks, making a difference in the beauty and environmental health of our community.
