Jim Wallace, managing partner of Genova Partners, members of his firm, and members of the Village Council took part in a ground-breaking ceremony for the Genova project on Tuesday, October 25.
Wallace stated the ground-breaking served to confirm to everyone that the Village Center is becoming a reality and reconfirms Estero is a great place to live, play and invest in quality development.
Genova is on the southwest corner of Corkscrew Road and Via Coconut Point and is the first development to break ground in the newly designated Village Center of the Estero Planning District.
Italianate architecture will be featured on all four sides of the buildings, i.e., there will be no “back of the building” views, with underground parking for residents and visitors. There will be landscaped frontage along Corkscrew Road and Via Coconut Point, a linear park along Corkscrew Road, a public pocket park on Via Coconut Point and public lakeside sitting areas.
Located on 16.95 acres of land, this development was approved on July 13, 2016, and plans call for development of 205 residential units to be completed in 2018.
