Light up Estero – December 4
The annual Light up Estero is scheduled Saturday at the Estero Community Park with children’s activities and refreshments starting at 4:30 p.m.
The holiday program starts at 5:30 p.m. and will include holiday music performed by the sweet New Horizons of Southwest Florida children’s choir and an Estero High School vocal group. Everyone will be invited to sing along.
Decorated holiday wreaths will be raffled off, with the proceeds going toward scholarships for Estero High School students. There will be a Christmas tree lighting and Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by Estero Fire Rescue firetruck.
You’re invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and get into the spirit of the holiday.
The Village of Estero is partnering with the Rotary Club of Estero for this special holiday event.
The popular teddy bear toss night holiday tradition will take place for the first time in two years starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game and, when the Blades score their first goal of the game, you can throw your stuffed animals onto the ice. Later the stuffed animals will be donated to Southwest Florida charities.
Tailgate party runs from 5 – 7 p.m. featuring bounce houses and live music. Tickets may be purchased online.
The society invites you to visit the Cottage anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday for finger foods and holiday cookies, vintage decorations, warm conversations and gift shopping opportunities.
The Estero Historical Society Cottage is located at 9285 Corkscrew Palms Blvd., within the Estero Park.
The Park will hold its 4th annual Old-Fashioned Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll be able to shop many booths of unique, creative crafts, beautiful art and more. Children can enjoy exploring Santa’s workshop, photos with Santa, children’s games and crafts.
Park entrance fee is required. The cost is $4 for a single occupancy vehicle or $5 for up to eight people per vehicle. No change will be provided, so please bring the exact change. Or you may pay with your credit card through the Park’s website
The Park will also feature Florida Master Naturalist Programs during the month at 10 a.m. Gopher tortoises will be the featured topic December 7; beginning cell phone photography December 14, beginning butterflies December 21 and beginning camera photography December 28.
Koreshan State Park is located at 3800 Corkscrew Road.
FGCU – Piano Ensembles
All are welcome to come out to enjoy the Piano Ensembles concert on Thursday, December 2nd, from 7:30-10:00 pm. Located at U. Tobe Recital Hall at Florida Gulf Coast University.
This concert is free and open to the public.
