Lee County Utilities and Bonita Springs Utilities ask residents to continue to conserve water as power has not been fully restored to lift stations

/, News/Lee County Utilities and Bonita Springs Utilities ask residents to continue to conserve water as power has not been fully restored to lift stations

Both Lee County Utilities (LCU) and Bonita Springs Utilities (BSU) are asking residents to be conservative with water usage until further notice.

According to BSU, power has been restored to roughly 250 of 335 lift stations.  Many others are being pumped down periodically using portable generators.  Although you may have power, the lift station serving your home may not.  Please use water sparingly.

Due to the reduced capacity for waste water to flow to the treatment plant, it could result in sewage backup.

Ways to conserve water

  • limit the amount of toilet flushing
  • abstain from running dishwashers and clothes washers
  • limit the amount of water used during a shower or the amount to fill the bathtub

Customers will be notified once the waste water collection system is fully restored to normal operations.
