Nine-year-old Nicky Snow has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Village of Estero ever since the incorporation effort began. When District 3 Councilmember Don Brown learned of this, he gave Nicky a framed map of the Village and made arrangements for Nicky to visit the Village Hall on August 16, 2016.

Mayor Nick Batos met with Nicky and his family in the Village conference room where he described the early days of Estero and details about the successful incorporation efforts. After presenting Nicky with a different version of the Village map and a photo of the Village Hall ribbon cutting ceremony, the mayor then took the family on a tour of the Village offices and Council Chambers.
Nicky, a fourth grader at Pinewoods Elementary School, first became interested in the Village through his attention to geography and finding out exactly where he lived. His mother says he loves Estero and has stated he never wants to leave except to go to college and then return to the Village. He indicated he might want to become involved in local government when he grows up.
At the August 17 Council meeting, Nicky led the pledge of allegiance, his first official Village action.
