April 1-2 – 2017 USA Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling State Championships
Gymnasts from around the state will be competing in the Florida Level 1 – 10 State Championships in morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 at the Estero Community Park. Each session will conclude with an awards ceremony.

April 3 – Estero Historical Society’s “The Mad Hatter’s Tea”
The Estero Historical Society will hold its annual fundraiser tea at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday, April 3, at Shadow Wood Country Club.

April 5 – National Walking Day – Lee Health Healthy Life Center
Join other walkers at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, for an interactive walking route at Coconut Point Mall on a 2 mile loop followed by a healthy breakfast. Walk starts at the Healthy Life Center 23190 Fashion Drive, Suite 105.
April 10 – Gopher Tortoise Day – Koreshan State Historic Site
You can help celebrate Florida’s only native tortoise by discovering more about these magnificent creatures and what you can do to help ensure their conservation.

April 15 – Estero EGGStravaganza to host Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt at Estero Community Park
The Estero EGGStravaganza will feature an egg hunt, crafts, refreshments and the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. This special event starts at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 15, at the Estero Community Park, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd.
The egg hunts are designed for children ages 12 and under and will begin at 9:30 a.m. Children will be arranged in three groups: (1) ages 3 and under; (2) ages 4 to 7 and (3) 8 to 12. Each age group has the chance to find a prize egg, which wins them an Easter basket full of goodies. Great photo opportunity!
The cost is $5 per child and pre-registration is required by calling the park at 239-498-0415 or online at www.leeparks.org. Registration will not be accepted the day of the event.
April 15 – Shredding Event
The Pilot Club of Ft. Myers, in cooperation with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, is holding a Shredding Event from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, April 15, at the northwest corner of Miromar Outlets, 10801 Corkscrew Road.
A donation of $5 per box will support the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver.
They ask that all binders and paper clips be removed. No commercial boxes will be accepted. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading boxes.
April 22 – 2nd Annual Calooza Palooza
Race the Estero River on Saturday, April 22, and support youth paddling sports in SWFL sponsored by the College of Life Foundation and South Florida Canoe Kayak Club. Registration is required by calling (239) 992-2184. Rental equipment is available with advanced registration.
April 22-23 – Annual Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida “Breaking Par Gala & Golf Tournament”
