Total Wine & More

The Board approved the request by Total Wine & More to allow the package store to move into the space vacated by Sports Authority in the northern section of Coconut Point Mall.  This property is located at 8012 Mediterranean Drive.

Total Wine & More sells beer, wine and liquor for off-site consumption.  They plan to make some modifications to the entrance of the building and to be open by the fall of 2017.  Their proposed hours of operation will be Sunday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Presentation)

Village Comprehensive Plan Update

Community Development Director Mary Gibbs stated the consultants are compiling the comments presented by residents at the Comprehensive Plan Workshop on January 11 and will have them available at the February 21 PZB meeting. She also stated that land use and transportation are the “big” issues and should be addressed first.

Planning & Zoning Board Annual Report

Board Chairman Scotty Wood discussed the 2016 Annual Report to the Village Council.  Mary Gibbs noted that the report should be amended to include the ABC liquor store review and approval. (2016 Annual Report)

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, and the meeting will include a zoning hearing for Estero Crossing.
