Vice-Mayor Howard Levitan, Village Manager Steve Sarkozy, Community Development Director Mary Gibbs and Land Use Attorney Nancy Stroud have been compiling the results of community and property owners’ input to the Village Center planning process.
The Comprehensive Plan Amendments, which are very general and give the “big picture” of the Village Center, have already been submitted to Tallahassee and returned with minor comments. The Village Center Land Development Code Amendments are more detailed and provide the specifics of the planning process. These amendments are now ready for review.
Residents still have additional opportunities to share their ideas on what they feel will make the Village Center complete. Here are the dates for upcoming meetings scheduled to review the Village Center:
On Wednesday, June 1, 9:30 a.m., the Village Council will have a first reading of the Village Center Land Development Code Amendments. Residents may speak during the Public Comment session of this meeting.
On Thursday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a joint meeting of the Planning & Zoning Board and the Design Review Board. Residents may speak during the Public Comment session of this meeting.
On Wednesday, June 15, 5:30 p.m., the Village Council is scheduled to have a second reading on the Village Center Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Land Development Code Amendments. Residents may speak during the Public Comment session of this meeting.
If you are unable to attend one of these meetings and have suggestions you’d like to make, you may contact the Village Council to make your ideas known. Their email addresses are listed here: https://estero-fl.gov/council/.
