On January 11, a conversation will take place between Abigail Adams and Mercy Otis Warren.
Abigail Adams was a woman way before her time. Historians will call her one of the most extraordinary women in American history. She fought for women’s education and rights, understood the time’s political climate, managed a farm, the household finances, and children most often by herself, and she did not favor slavery. Perhaps her most endearing quality was the thousand plus letters she wrote to her husband, John Adams, which gives an eloquent and evocative description of her life and times. They serve as eyewitness accounts of the American Revolutionary War home front.
This conversation will be held at 9:30 a.m., at Country Creek Country Club, 21180 Country Creek Drive. Reserve your spot here.
On January 25, the Society will offer a cozy conversation about Estero history led by local experts. This event is included in your membership, but please rsvp because space is limited. Future-members are welcome for just $15 or join online now.
This conversation will take place at 1 p.m. at the Estero Historical Society Cottage 9285 Corkscrew Blvd.
