Water Safety

The local US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a course on how to safely navigate the channels and waterways inside the southwest coast of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico.

This course includes a satellite flyover of Estero Bay and Estero River at low tide to identify sandbars, oyster bars and other hazards local boaters should watch out for.

The Local Waters Knowledge course is being offered at $45 from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, January 13, at the Flotilla 96 Station, 13531 Vanderbilt Drive.  Call (239) 594 – 8009 to register for this class.
