Lee County Parks & Recreation’s Estero Recreation Center will host the National High School Gymnastics Association Senior Showcase Invitational on Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18.
This event features 100 high school senior girls from across the U.S. representing their individual states in a competition. The event is a culminating event for the high school careers of these top athletes.
The competition begins at 9 a.m. and continues until about 2 p.m. Friday at the Estero Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. On Saturday, competition begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until about noon.
According to the NHSGA website: The Senior Showcase Invitational is a competition between states that are able to bring the “best of the best”, It is a wonderful experience that culminates years of training and a “last hurrah” for their high school gymnastics experience. The gymnasts have the opportunity to meet other gymnasts from around the country and make friends for life. This is a one of a kind experience for the gymnasts. It is specifically for the senior, 12th grade, gymnasts only.
Lee County Sports Development has worked with the NHSGA to bring this event to Lee County.
