Council will discuss establishing a Recognition Policy for special contributions to the community and how to fill existing and any other upcoming vacancies on the Design Review Board. Public Hearing The Design Review Board approved the architectural plans for the Texas Roadhouse restaurant at Shoppes at Estero Grande at their meeting on January 23 with the stipulation that the colors of the building are checked against the Estero Grande Pattern Book. The Design Review Board conducted a public hearing on December 12 to review the proposed repainting of the exterior surfaces of Hertz Arena. Representatives from Hertz met with neighboring communities to the arena, Tidewater and Grandezza, to address their new proposed paint palette. Hertz demonstrated the views of the arena from the neighboring communities.  They addressed where the color yellow would be intrusive to the neighbors, i.e., Tidewater to the north, so the new proposal does not include yellow in that portion of the building, as well as no yellow banding around the roofline at that portion of the building.  [...]

Public Hearing Estero Grande Representatives for Estero Grande were requesting approval for the first of three proposed monument signs for their development.  This sign is for the Shoppes of Estero Grande, which is located west of US 41 at the intersection of Estero Parkway and US 41. This monument sign will be along the US 41 main entrance.  The colors of the sign mimic the colors of the buildings in this community.  (Presentation) The Board approved this application. The Design Review Board will conduct a public hearing for the Shoppes at Estero Grande monument sign and a public information meeting for the proposed Market Place at Coconut Point at 5:30 p.m., November 28. Estero Grande is located west of US 41 at the intersection of Estero Parkway and US 41. The monument sign is along the US 41 entrance. The Market Place at Coconut Point is a proposed grocery-anchored center having an organic grocery store, retail shops, restaurant and an undetermined tenant on a 1-acre parcel located on the east side of US 41 between Sweetwater Ranch Boulevard [...]

The Design Review Board conducted a public hearing for Edera, located on the southeast corner of Via Coconut and Williams Road, at their meeting on November 14. Edera is a multi-family development of 180 apartment units in four buildings consisting of studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms with elevators and 398 parking spaces, 151 of which will be under the buildings.  The apartments are designed to serve as workforce housing for teachers and public servants.  They will require a minimum of one-year leases and are proposed to range in price between $1200 - $1400 per month.
