The Village of Estero’s debris hauler, Crowder Gulf, will make the last construction and debris pick up on the south side of West Broadway on Friday, January 20. If you need additional assistance with debris removal, the State of Florida is offering private property debris removal services through https://iandebriscleanup.com/. Please coordinate directly with Florida Department of Emergency Management on program requirements and questions.
Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County January 17, 2023
Based on new information, the contractor has rescheduled the paving Corkscrew Road, from east of Bella Terra Boulevard, west to toward the Wild Blue/Corkscrew intersection to begin on Thursday, January 19. This was originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 18. This shift in schedule will alter the date of the traffic switch at Bella Terra. During the overnight hours of Thursday, January 19, traffic is scheduled to shift to the entrance. Council to conduct Broadway West utilities expansion project workshop on January 18, 2023
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, conducting workshops on a High 5 proposal and Broadway West utilities expansion project. The full agenda is available here. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Village Hall, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle, near the entrance to the Estero Park. Residents may view the meeting here and provide public comment by utilizing the eComment Card on the Village website. Comments must be received by noon one day before the actual meeting and they will be distributed to the Council but will not be read at the meeting.
Estero Park to host Ready, Set, Grow! Seed Exchange & Plant Swap
The Ready, Set, Grow! Seed Exchange & Plant Swap will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 28, at the East pavilion next to the playground in Estero Park, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. To participate, bring one or more healthy plants or seeds and join fellow plant enthusiasts with educational opportunities, door prizes and a free raffle opportunity. Household chemical waste collection scheduled at Estero Park on January 18, 2023
Residents will be able to dispose of household chemical waste safely and responsibly from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Items will not be accepted either before or after that time period. Chemical waste categories include items that are ignitable, corrosive, explosive and/or reactive and toxic. Never dispose of these items in dumpsters, compactors or at curbside with household garbage or down a storm drain or in the soil. The Village of Estero’s debris hauler, CrowderGulf, will be making its final debris removal pass through the neighborhoods along Broadway Ave. West on Friday, January 20. Please place any Hurricane Ian related construction and demolition debris at your curb prior to January 20 to ensure it is picked up. After January 20, there are several options if any residents still require assistance removing trash or debris from their property. Enjoy a Ghost Walk in Koreshan State Park
Take a ghost walk and you will stroll past restored buildings from a bygone era and watch re-enactors perform scenes from throughout their lives in Southwest Florida. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, the entrance lanes to Bella Terra will be closed and two-way traffic will use the exit lanes. Crews anticipate work to reconstruct the entrance lanes to be completed Monday, January 16, 2023.
