Estero Sports Park and Via Coconut among topics addressed by Council on October 2, 2024
Estero Sports Park (leased property) Council approved a contract with Perez Planning + Design LLC for design services for the Estero Sports Park. The contract amount is $321,990, with a contingency of $34,000. Among the contractor’s responsibilities are preparing a master plan, holding 2 meetings for public input, guidelines for the site layout, and preparing a pattern book that summarizes the project’s design. The site is approximately 100 acres which will eventually be shared by the Village, Estero High School, County and residents. Starbucks The Board will start their meeting at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, conducting public information meetings for an Aldi grocery store to be located on Corkscrew Road, east of Stoneybrook Drive, and Mayfield Village to be located on Broadway E., west of Sandy Lane. The Board will then conduct public hearings for Celebree School on Corkscrew Road, Shadow Wood Community Association’s Three Oaks guardhouse remodel, Estero’s Entertainment District at 9000 Williams Road, Coconut Trace located at 22910 Lynden Drive, Starbucks at Estero Town Commons and Ordinance 2024-10. Household chemical waste collection scheduled at Estero Park on October 16, 2024
Residents will be able to dispose of household chemical waste safely and responsibly from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16. Items will not be accepted either before or after that time period. Chemical waste categories include items that are ignitable, corrosive, explosive and/or reactive and toxic, such as leftover paints, cleaners, herbicides, pesticides, automotive fluids and pool chemicals. Never dispose of these items in dumpsters, compactors or at curbside with household garbage or down a storm drain or in the soil. Contracts for Sports Park and Estero on the River among topics for Council on October 2, 2024
Estero Sports Park (leased property) Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, reviewing a contract with Perez Planning + Design LLC to prepare schematic plan and design guidelines for the Estero Sports Park. They will then address two contracts with Manhattan Construction for Phase 1 improvements to the 63.7 acres of Estero on the River property located on the east side of US 41 north of Corkscrew Road. Council will consider an amendment to a contract with Wright Construction for the construction of the Corkscrew Road pathway, lighting and landscaping improvements, and a contract with Haggarty Consulting Inc. The Village’s offices will remain open to provide service and information to residents. Estero is fully prepared. All of our ditches and flow ways have been inspected this week and are well-maintained to carry storm flows. Estero Recreation Center will open a Safe Haven at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Tropical Storm – Hurricane Helene update – sand & sandbags available
The Village of Estero and Estero Fire Rescue are providing free sand and sandbags for Estero residents. The sand is located at 20921 County Road, on the corner of US 41 and County Road across from the Fire Station. Residents will need to bring their own shovel. This is a self-serve operation, and no personnel will be on site to help.

Final budget hearings and Via Coconut on the agenda for Council at 5:05 p.m., September 18, 2024
Council will start their meeting at 5:05 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, with two public hearings adopting the final millage rate and adopting the final budget for FY 2024-2025.
