The meeting will start Wednesday evening with a presentation on the US 2020 Census by Census Bureau Recruiting Manager Don Radcliff, followed by public hearings adopting the final levying of ad valorem taxes and approving the FY 2019-2020 budget. The Village of Estero is closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian as it progresses northward along the eastern coast of Florida, along with our partners in Lee County and the Estero and San Carlos Park Fire teams. Likely Impact: Hurricane Dorian is presently a category 3 storm, though it is not expected to provide a significant impact to Estero. The projected course will take the storm up the eastern coast of Florida. The Village of Estero is closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian as it progresses northward along the eastern coast of Florida, along with our partners in Lee County and the Estero and San Carlos Park Fire teams. Likely Impact: The weather forecast is clarifying. Hurricane Dorian is presently a category 4, though it is not expected to provide a significant impact to Estero.  Expect 2-5 inches of rain tomorrow, with tropical storm force wind gusts (not sustained), and no storm surge. The Design Review Board will conduct public hearings for development orders for Sprout Farmers Market’s grocery store, parking infrastructure and monument sign, and Genova’s Via Coconut Point median landscape plan at 5:30 p.m. June 12. The Village Council is asking residents to join them in attending the Lee County Board of County Commissioners’ public hearing at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 19.  The Board will be considering the adoption of proposed amendments to the Lee County Comprehensive Land Use Plan that will eliminate the current controls on limerock mining.
