The Village of Estero will be holding an election on Tuesday, March 7, for Council Districts 3, 4, 5 and 7 where three of the four current Councilmembers will be termed out. This is an at-large election, which means that Estero voters may vote for each district representative of their choice. District 5 is the only election with more than one candidate; the candidates are Gary Israel and Rafael Lopez. Volunteers are helping keep Estero’s roads beautiful throughout the season
Anne Rupp and Annette Paul Kudos to the Estero residents who have joined together again this season to help keep our roadways free of litter and looking beautiful. Volunteers in the Adopt a Road program for Via Coconut Point, Williams Road and Estero Parkway have collected 1400 pounds of litter since May. Residents participating in this program are from Cascades, Genova, Mirasol, Pelican Sound, Wildcat Run, Rapallo, Colonial Oaks, Shadow Wood and Lighthouse Bay. The Board started their meeting by electing Anthony Gargano Vice-Chair of the Planning, Zoning & Design Board. Public Hearing Milan Villas Milan Villas The Board then conducted a public hearing for Milan Villas which plans a community of 44 single-family attached one-story homes. Each unit will have three bedrooms, two baths and two car garages with a firewall separating the units. The property includes a dog park and a sidewalk throughout the community. UPDATE: Disaster Recovery Center to close temporarily at 12:30 p.m., Dec. 13 to reopen Dec. 14 at 9:30 a.m.
In observance of a public meeting in the Council Chambers, the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center will be temporarily closed starting at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 13. It will reopen on Wednesday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Disaster Recovery Center is located in the Council Chambers first floor, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle near the entrance to Estero Park. Red Cross is providing financial assistance to homes severely impacted by Hurricane Ian
In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, the American Red Cross has worked closely with partners to provide emergency shelter, food, water, relief supplies, emotional support and health services to people in need. If you are a Hurricane Ian survivor who suffered damage to your property, you have additional time to apply for federal disaster assistance. You must be registered before January 12. Even if you were originally denied assistance, the Disaster Recovery Center may be able to offer you different options or programs that would apply to your situation.
