Black Seminole Indian Mathew Griffin gave a vivid and enlightening description of how the Black Seminole tribe came about and how they struggled along with the Seminole Indians during the Seminole War from 1835-1842 at the Estero Historical Society’s annual luncheon at the Villages at Country Creek on December 14.
Village Councilmembers joined about 100 other Estero residents who enjoyed this intriguing account of Florida’s history.
