Council conducted a workshop pertaining to the Village-owned property at 8801 Corkscrew Road on April 13, 2022
Mayor Katy Errington, Councilmembers Larry Fiesel, Jim Ward, Joanne Ribble, Jim Boesch, Jim Wilson, and Village Attorney Burt Saunders visited the property and conducted a short workshop to walk the site and inspect the buildings. This five-acre property is just east of the Happehatchee Center and is part of the Estero on the River property. Council will review their recommendations for the property at an upcoming meeting. The next Council meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20.

River Oaks and Driving Range purchase on the agenda for Council April 6, 2022
At their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Council will be asked to approve resolutions pertaining to the purchase of the 10-acre property commonly known as “River Oaks” at the east end of Broadway Avenue, as well as the purchase of the 10-acre Gess Family Partnership and Gulf Coast Driving Range LLC-owned property located on Williams Road south and west of the Estero Community Park and Estero High School. Estero on the River property The 30-acre Estero on the River property south of the river will soon be rezoned to better match its intended use. It currently is zoned “mixed use” and the Happehatchee property is zoned “agriculture”, so Council voted today to approve the initiation of a rezoning and Comprehensive Plan amendment to permanently preserve this property for parks and community facilities. This new zoning is specific for publicly owned property and allows for active and passive recreation, preserved lands and civic uses only. Animal control, River Oaks property and Public Works Update presented to Council on February 16, 2022
Council started their meeting recognizing Julie Yellig, who serves as the ECCL/Adopt-a-Highway Coordinator. She has helped organize Estero volunteers join together in an effort to help keep our roadways free of litter. Over 3.8 tons of litter have been collected since the program began. Yellig also provides assistance for volunteers for the local Adopt-a-Road program which is supported by the Village of Estero and Keep Lee County Beautiful.
