  Boris Sandler, Bella Gutshtein and Leslie Caballero  The Koreshan Music Salon will perform their last concert of the season at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 28. The program includes Mozart’s Violin Sonata No. 21 in E minor, Tartini’s Sonata G minor Devil’s Trill, and Schumann’s Piano Trio in G minor Op. 17.  Featured artists will be Leslie Caballero on cello, Bella Gutshtein on piano, and Boris Sandler on violin. The applicant was requesting a development order for the construction of a three building 134,000 square foot self-storage facility, associated drainage, utilities, and landscaping.  The architecture is mission revival style. Twelve students, ranging from fourth to eight grades at 3 Oaks Academy, had the opportunity to learn how the Village Council and staff work for Estero residents. Village Clerk Carol Sacco gave the students an overview of how Council conducts their meetings.   She then had the children sit at the dais and conduct their own “Council” meeting where they acted out the positions of Vice Mayor, Councilmembers, Village Attorney, Community Development Director and Village Clerk.  The agenda’s Action Item was “Longer School Lunch Periods” which was voted in unanimously. The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, addressing a contract with Banks Engineering to design utility improvements at See See Street off Corkscrew Road. Council will then review Staff’s recommendation of three firms to provide supplemental staffing to the Village, and adopting a revised travel and expense reimbursement policy. There will be a first reading of Ordinance 2023-05 updating the capital improvements element which includes the Capital Improvement Program approved for Fiscal Year 2022/2023. Lee County will hold a public information meeting about Phase 1 of the Alico Road Extension Project 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, May 11, at the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers Airport/FGCU, 16410 Corporate Commerce Way, Fort Myers. This project designs the extension of Alico Road north to connect with State Road 82 at the Sunshine Boulevard intersection. Hugh Ivany, Randy Perry, Dwight and Helen Jacobs Many Estero residents have been volunteering their time to help keep Estero litter-free and beautiful. Total litter collected since the end of last season from Williams Road, Estero Parkway, and Via Coconut Point - the three roads in the Village’s Adopt A Road Program - was 3,098 pounds. Our volunteers have collected 5,238 pounds - or 2.6 tons - of litter since the start of this successful initiative in the fall of 2021.
