The Village of Estero and High 5 Entertainment are pleased to announce groundbreaking ceremonies are planned for 3 p.m., Friday, November 14. Mark your calendars now; additional details to come soon. The sitework has been completed to allow High 5 to initiate construction in Estero’s Entertainment District on the north side of Williams Road and east of via Coconut Point. State funding requests on the agenda for Council on October 15, 2025
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, addressing requests for state funding for the Sunny Groves utility extension, Estero SportsPark reuse water main extension and storage tank, Estero Parkway reuse water main extension, and Williams Road and Atlantic Gulf Drive improvements. Coconut Point Mall paint colors up for review by the Planning, Zoning & Design Board on October 14, 2025
The Board will start their meeting at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, with a public information meeting addressing a request by Coconut Point Developers to update their paint colors to modernize the look of the mall. Estero looking for a volunteer to serve on Public Information Committee
The Village of Estero is seeking an Estero resident who would like to volunteer to serve as a private member representative for the Village of Estero on the Lee County Program for Public Information Committee (PPI Committee). The PPI Committee is a part of the requirements for the Community Rating System (CRS) program within the National Flood Insurance Program which seeks to make the community more resistant to flood damages and provides financial discounts to flood insurance policy holders. Because of the points earned in this program, owners in the Village of Estero qualify for a 20% flood insurance discount. [Read More.]
Projects to protect the Estero River among topics addressed by Council on October 1, 2025
Public Comment: Two residents addressed the banner rule in the lease agreement with Estero High School. FDEP grant for Orange Park Utility Extension Project Council approved a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in the amount of $800,000 for the Orange Park neighborhood (See See Street). Estero is actively advancing its septic-to-sewer conversion project to enhance the water quality of the Estero River and Estero Bay. Grant funding agreements among topics for Council on October 1, 2025
The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, with Council addressing grant funding agreements for the Estero Orange Park Utility Expansion Project and the Broadway Avenue East Phase 1 improvements, followed by a third amendment to the Public Improvement Agreement between the Village and High 5 Up Top, LLC. There will be first readings for ordinances pertaining to creating a right of way use code and repealing Ordinance 2015-13 (related to development application review cost recovery). Council adopted FY 25/26 budget and lowest tax rate in the state on September 17
Council adopted the fiscal year budget at $70,938,016 and the millage rate at .7300 mills, which is equivalent to last year’s rate and is the lowest tax rate in Florida. Capital Improvement Projects include $27.3 million for parks & recreation, $13.4 million for utility improvements, and $11.9 million for roadway improvements. Recycle the water from washing your cars
Wash your car on the grass, or better yet, at a car wash. Both ways make dual use of your water through recycling and/or treatment. Keeping excess water out of our storm drains reduces flooding and keeps chemicals out of our important waterways. More tips in our flyer.
