The Estero Historical Society is inviting the entire community to celebrate the 4th of July with a reading of the Declaration of Independence.  This is a great way to kick off the Independence Day holiday weekend, remembering the importance of what this day in American history represents. This annual celebration starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, with local historian Jacob Winge who will be reading the Declaration dressed in authentic 18th-century period costume. Golf Coast Driving Range to close temporarily for two weeks on June 25

The driving range will be closed from Sunday, June 25 through Sunday, July 9 in order to do necessary maintenance and provide time off for the staff and volunteers   Normal daily hours of operation will resume on Monday, July 10. The Estero Forever Foundation staff and volunteers have operated the Village of Estero's Golf Coast Driving Range as a community service project since August 15, 2022.   They look forward to seeing you when they reopen and hope you have enjoyed the services provided by their staff and volunteers.

During the daytime hours on Wednesday, June 28, motorists should expect the driveway to The Shoppes at Grand Oaks from Corkscrew Road to be closed for crews to restore the driveway.  The driveway is anticipated to be open early Thursday morning, June 29.  Crews will be pouring some sidewalk between Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and Stoneybrook Golf Drive.  Pedestrians should continue to expect the sidewalk on the south side of the road closed.  The Village of Estero is constructing the shared use path.  The contractor continues installing drainage, performing concrete work and earthwork, clearing & grubbing, and prepping for/installing sod.  [Read More.]

Attention Lee County Utilities Reuse Water Customers

The Three Oaks Water Reclamation Facility is currently undergoing an expansion to increase its capacity. Until the expansion is complete, reuse water will not be available. Instead, Lee County Utilities (LCU) will be using groundwater to supply water to reuse water distribution customers. This started in June 2023 and will continue until June 2024. Due to regulatory requirements and operational constraints, there is the potential for system supply shortages during periods of peak demand. Public Hearings RiverCreek recreation site The RiverCreek recreation site was requesting a development order.  This site is located at 20161 Camellia Crosse Lane within the Rivercreek subdivision and is bounded by Corkscrew Road to the north, Wildcat Run to the west, The Preserve at Corkscrew and Bella Terra to the east, and Kiker Preserve to the south. This project is proposed as a residential community with a total of 554 single family homes, gatehouse, and a common recreation area.
