Residents throughout the Village are being asked to vote for the District 5 candidate of your choice, Gary Israel or Rafael Lopez, in the upcoming election regardless of which district you live in. Districts 3, 4, and 7 were unopposed, so they will not be on the ballot. History of the Calusa Indians to be presented at Estero Historical Society meeting
When most people think of Florida’s first people, few imagine a complex society – perhaps one of the most complex in North America at the time. Hurricane Ian victims: There is still time to apply for an SBA low interest disaster loan
If you are a business, nonprofit, homeowner or renter who suffered damages as a result of Hurricane Ian, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) may be able to assist you with a low interest disaster loan to help repair or replace property not covered by insurance or other sources. Even though Florida did not receive an additional extension, there is still time to apply for physical damages incurred from Hurricane Ian. Public Comment: A resident thanked Council for their support of the Light Up Estero event. Community can help individuals experiencing homelessness by donating cold-weather supplies
Lee County Government and its partners are asking the community to donate cold weather supplies for Severe Weather Outreach Teams to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Blankets, gloves, scarves, hats, socks and hand-warmers can be dropped off at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Center, 23140 Fashion Drive, Unit #111, Coconut Point Shopping Center, between January 30 and February 3. Severe Weather Outreach Teams are mobilized to specific locations when inland temperatures are projected to drop to 40 degrees or lower for an extended period of time. Koreshan Music Salon’s premiere chamber music concert set for February 12, 2023
The Koreshan Music Salon, formerly known as the Estero Concert Series, will premiere its new series of chamber music concerts at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 12, in the Koreshan State Park’s historic Art Hall. The program includes music of G. Tartini, R. Gliere, G. Faure and W. A. Mozart. Performers for these concerts are all accomplished classical musicians, several of whom are with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and other esteemed musical groups around the country. There will be a first reading of an ordinance pertaining to amending the zoning for the International Design Center to allow office uses, then Council will conduct the two workshops. If you are a Hurricane Ian survivor who suffered damage to your property, you have additional time to apply for federal disaster assistance. You must have registered for assistance by the January 12, 2023 deadline. Even if you applied for federal disaster assistance and were originally denied, the Disaster Recovery Center may be able to offer you different options or programs that would apply to your situation. The Village strongly suggests that if you have been initially denied by FEMA that you come into the Disaster Recovery Center to review your file and explore options with the FEMA staff, in person.
