Household chemical waste collection scheduled at Estero Park on July 20, 2022
Residents will be able to safely and responsibly dispose of household chemical waste from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Items will not be accepted either before or after that time period. Chemical waste categories include items that are ignitable, corrosive, explosive and/or reactive and toxic. Lee County Domestic Animal Services asks you to Do What’s Right – Reunite
Lee County Domestic Animal Services staff will be at various off-site locations to be available for residents to bring stray animals to be scanned for microchips. It’s called the “Do What’s Right – Reunite” initiative. Independence Day created an influx of stray pets because of firework celebrations, which frequently startle dogs and cats. Animal Services experiences this each year and recognizes that it is not always convenient for residents to bring animals they have found to the county facility within 24 hours, which is required by county ordinance. Lee County, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (FDEO) Office of Broadband, is asking residents and visitors to take a survey and an internet speed test to evaluate current broadband capabilities and determine areas in need of added service. Surveys may be taken online or in person at Lee County libraries and recreation centers during the month of July. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County June 25, 2022
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule. Corkscrew motorists should expect slower than usual traffic when approaching communities along Corkscrew Road. Work is occurring in The Preserve’s entranceand many turn lanes into other communities are closed.
