Lee County and its partners have updates related to medical services and support during the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. New medical treatment sites are becoming available as state and federal healthcare resources are mobilizing to offer medical services. Urgent care: A Mobile Health Clinic is set up at Estero Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. The clinic is currently open 24 hours a day providing urgent care services. REMINDER: Garbage collection resumes Monday, October 3
Garbage collection will resume tomorrow on the normally scheduled day for all routes in Lee County franchise areas that are accessible to collection trucks. This collection is for household garbage only − everyday trash items and all spoiled food. Collection of recycling will resume at a later time. Lee County Utilities residents: Continue to Use Bottled Water – Bonita Springs Utilities residents: Water safe to drink
Notice from Alert Lee: Due to water system distribution pipeline damage in Lee County, a countywide boil water notice has been issued. While most residents do not have power to boil water, please use bottled water for drinking. From Bonita Springs Utilities’ Facebook Page: BSU has maintained water service during and after Hurricane Ian throughout their service area, with the exception of Bonita Beach. Lee County opens Points of Distribution for those needing food and water
Lee County – along with state and federal partners – will begin opening Points of Distribution (PODs) today for hurricane-impacted residents who need food and water. The county is coordinating the initial opening of eight PODs throughout the county. Announcements will be made with location information as more PODs are mobilized and opened as supplies become available. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. As PODs open, the county will use its media partners, its Emergency Alert System (which reaches residents’ phones), its website and social media to inform the public of the POD locations. Lee County Solid Waste garbage collection will resume Monday, Oct. 3, on the normally scheduled day for all routes in Lee County franchise areas that are accessible to collection trucks. Lee County update on response and recovery efforts in aftermath of Hurricane Ian
September 29, 2022 – Lee County is actively engaged in search and rescue efforts, assessing infrastructure and structural damage and intensifying other response and recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Ian, which caused catastrophic damage throughout Lee County. USAR – Urban Search and Rescue – crews from local agencies such as fire, law enforcement and EMS – began before daylight. Lee County has the following updates Wednesday morning on Hurricane Ian: If you need to get to a shelter, proceed with caution as conditions worsened overnight, and drivers may encounter debris and squalls. Estero’s tax rate reduced by Council at their meeting on September 21, 2022
Public Budget Hearings Resolution 2022-27 – final millage rate Council approved this resolution adopting the ad valorem taxes for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 at a millage rate of 0.75 mills, which is a reduction from the prior year’s rate of 0.77.
