Lee County Solid Waste to begin seasonal adjustments to collection schedule
Residents are asked to set their trash, recycling and yard waste to the curb by 5:30 a.m. beginning Thursday, May 1. This is one hour earlier than the typical set-out time of 6:30 a.m. The seasonal change is to help the contracted haulers’ drivers complete routes earlier in the day as summer’s heat arrives. This annual seasonal adjustment does not impact the day of the week residents have their materials collected; that remains the same. To learn more about what to set out at the curb and proper disposal methods, visit Lee County Solid Waste at www.leegov.com/solidwaste.

Protect our Waters with Proper Fertilization
Fertilizing your lawn with nitrogen or phosphorus-based products in the summer (June through September) does more harm than good. That fertilizer never makes it to the plant roots, it just gets washed into storm drains and floods our valuable waterways with food for unwanted algal blooms. Wait to fertilize until rainy season is over, and maybe again in March or April. For more ways you can keep our waters free of pollutants, check out our flyer on how your landscape maintenance can protect our waters at: https://estero-fl.gov/landscape You can also get more information on our website at: https://estero-fl.gov/residents/
