Resolution No. 2021-01 – Village Clerk appointment Council approved this resolution appointing Carol Sacco Village Clerk. She has served as Interim Village Clerk since March and will assume the Village Clerk duties starting today, January 27, 2021. Sacco will continue to also serve as the Village’s Executive Assistant. Elks Charity Car Show benefits the Army of Hope
Bonita Springs/Estero Elks Lodge #2753 held a car show on Saturday, January 23, 2021, to raise funds for the Army of Hope. The Army of Hope assists Florida active-duty military personnel, wounded veterans and family members of a military member killed in action. Estero Fire Rescue opened the event at 11 a.m. by raising the American flag which was followed by the judging of a variety of cars. Estero Country Club expansion, Coconut Trace Medical Office Center and old post office among topics to be addressed by Design Review Board on January 27, 2021
The Board will start their meeting at 5:30 p.m. with public hearings for the Estero Country Club expansion, Coconut Trace Medical Office Center and the old post office property. Mowing, landscape, and irrigation maintenance contract The Village of Estero contracts with private landscape maintenance companies to perform roadway landscape maintenance activities. Council voted to approve a contract with P & T Lawn and Tractor Service, Inc. to provide mowing, landscape, and irrigation maintenance services for a one-year period, at a rate of $127,075.00 per year. Additional fees will be added to the contract for Estero Parkway and the US 41 median landscape after each of these construction maintenance periods has ended. Intermittent ramp closures on I-75 at Corkscrew Road
Motorists can expect periodic closures of the southbound and northbound ramps on I-75 and Corkscrew Road, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway at I-75 exit 123 and related closures are planned to happen between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Friday, Feb. 12, weather permitting. According to FDOT, variable message signs will be in place to alert drivers, and motorists should follow detours. The resurfacing work is part of the I-75 at Corkscrew Road Interchange Improvement Project.
