Coconut Landing, water quality, Firestone Tire Center and Land Development Code on the agenda for Council on November 18, 2020
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, addressing an amendment to the comprehensive plan to add Coconut Landing to the future land use map. This is a 10-acre parcel voluntarily annexed to the Village located one mile west of US 41 on the north side of Coconut Road. There will be first readings for ordinances pertaining to illicit discharges to stormwater systems and an amendment to allow for a Firestone Tire Center at the Estero Town Center (Lowe’s plaza). Planning & Zoning Board to address Land Development Code-Part 2 on November 17, 2020
The Board will conduct a workshop on the Land Development Code at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday. They will be addressing the site development standards and natural resources portion of the code. Hospitalizations: Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70 percent since July. Lee County Solid Waste to suspend Monday residential garbage collection
Lee County has suspended residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection on Monday, November 9, because of winds anticipated from Tropical Storm Eta. Regular household collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Monday’s collections will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday’s collections will be picked up Wednesday and so on through Saturday. (Collections will occur on Veterans Day.) The county asks residents to remove anything outside their homes that could blow away during the storm, including garbage cans, lids and recycle carts. Store them inside.
