School property and Land Development Code on the agenda for the Planning & Zoning Board October 27, 2020
The Board will start their meeting at 4 p.m., Tuesday with a public information meeting for the School District of Lee County. They are requesting a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to develop an elementary and middle school on Three Oaks Parkway. The 68.5-acre undeveloped parcel is located south of Copper Oaks, southeast of the Post Office and bounded by Three Oaks Parkway on the west and I-75 on the east. REMINDER – Free PPE equipment to be handed out to residents in Estero on October 24
Village of Estero volunteers will be handing out free personal protection equipment (PPE) from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the following locations: Goodwill Industries, 10351 Corkscrew Commons Drive (map) Estero United Methodist Church, 8088 Lord’s Way, corner of US41 & Broadway (map) The PPE handout includes N95 masks (made in the USA) and branded Estero reusable masks, hand sanitizer bottles and grocery bags. These PPE are being provided through the CARES Act and are meant to encourage mask and hand sanitizer use during the continuing COVID pandemic.

Public Comment on non-agenda items: An eComment card from the Communications & Publicity Chair of the Estero Historical Society (EHS) was read into the record stating that all the EHS facilities have been decontaminated and treated with a long-term solution so that they are safe for everyone to visit. Interlocal Agreement for Animal Control Services Council approved this agreement which provides local monitoring and pick-up of stray animals, sheltering, attending to limited medical needs of sheltered animals, and ultimate discharge, adoption or euthanasia of pets. Estero 10/21/20 State of Florida Coronavirus (COVID-19) Government Updates
The State of Florida is now in Phase 3 of its reopening plan. This phase lifts the capacity limits on businesses previously put in place. More information can be found, below. Additionally, Lee County will be re-opening recreation/community centers today. More information is provided below.
