Global epidemiological situation The number of new cases per week has remained stable at 2 million for the past three weeks (Figure 1), with a cumulative total of over 34.8 million cases. Over 1 million deaths have now been reported globally, of which the majority were reported in the Region of the Americas (55%), followed by Europe (23%). Hospitalizations: Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70 percent since July. Council to conduct workshops on CIP process and land development code at their meeting on October 7, 2020
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m. with an update on the I-75 construction. Action items include a resolution to appoint Nick Batos to fulfil the remainder of his term, the Village of Estero style guide, and consideration of an appeal of a Design Review Board decision. Estero on the River public meeting held on September 30, 2020
The Village recently conducted the final public meeting for residents to provide feedback regarding their priorities for the future of the 62-acre Estero on the River property. Susana Gonzales with Canin Associates described the south and north sides of the river as having two very different characteristics, stating the 16 acres on the south side is green with a mature forest appropriate for nature and civic uses but the north side of the river is an abandoned orange grove with little to no environmental value.
