On Friday, March 24 and Monday, March 27, during the daytime hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., motorists should expect the driveway at The Shoppes at Grande Oak (Publix) for Corkscrew Road to be closed for crews to complete underground utility work. To access the shopping plaza, drivers should turn north onto Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and turn right into the plaza.
The contractor continues work outside of the travel lanes. This work includes installing drainage, earthwork, clearing & grubbing, prepping for sod.
Crews continue work on the box culvert near the wildlife crossing. This week the bridge crews will begin driving two test piles for the north side of the wildlife crossing/bridge. This work will of be outside of the travel lanes.
Pedestrians should expect the sidewalk on the south side of the road closed from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Stoneybrook Golf Drive while the Village of Estero constructs the shared use path.
Left turn lanes from Corkscrew Road are unavailable into Wild Blue Boulevard, Cypress Shadows Boulevard (The Preserve at Corkscrew), Midnight Blue Boulevard, and Bella Terra Boulevard. Left turns are still permitted, however they will be made from the travel lane. Where possible, barrels and other devices have been shifted to allow for as much room as possible for vehicles.
The work activities above are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule.
