• Crews will be working to complete water main tie ins on Monday, December 16 at 9 a.m. near Corkscrew Shores. Water service will be interrupted for a short period and customers will be under a temporary boil water notice once service is restored. Those properties affected by the water shut-off (1st bullet) would have received a door-hanger notice from Lee County Utilities on Friday, December 13.
  • Motorists should expect crews to be working on underground utilities near the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Alico Road. The contractor will be doing initial work for the traffic signal installation.
  • Crews may be performing earthwork close to the roadway. Please be aware that trucks may be entering and leaving Corkscrew Road.
  • Crews are installing water main from Wayside Lane to Alico Road.
  • Crews are installing a force main on both sides of Corkscrew Road.
  • During daytime hours, the contractor continues earthwork as a part of the new pond construction east of Corkscrew Shores. 
  • Crews are installing erosion control and traffic control devices throughout the project.
  • Crews may be working close to the roadway.  Motorists are asked to drive with caution.  Sidewalks may be closed in areas throughout the project as the contractor performs underground work.

The work activities above are scheduled to occur, however unforeseen underground conditions and weather may affect this schedule.

Please use caution and watch for workers and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway. Estimated completion is spring 2026. Project cost is approximately $27 M.
