South Florida Water ManagementCouncil to address efforts by local communities to challenge new criteria established by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) that may have serious negative impacts on water quality in our region at their meeting at 9:30 a.m., October 3.

A contract for the development of a Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan and Estero River law enforcement agreements with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office are also among the agenda items.

Immediately following the meeting, a workshop will be conducted to review a joint petition to challenge proposed rules being established by the SFWMD, the PACE Program, and a retail gas pump security measures ordinance.

Village Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Village Hall, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle, near the entrance to the Estero Community Park.
