The Design Review Board (DRB) held its first public information workshop on June 10, 2015.
Both the DRB and the Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) will be conducting public information workshops which allow Estero residents an opportunity to learn about proposed projects and to provide their input before final decisions have been reached about the developments.
The DRB reviews applications regarding appearance and design, landscaping, pedestrian and vehicular connectivity, and open space of developments in the Village of Estero.
Four development projects were presented before the DRB that evening: Tidewater f/k/as University Highlands located at the southwest corner of Estero Parkway and Ben Hill Griffin Parkway; Estero 4.2/Eich Group located at 19950 Tamiami Trail northeast of Breckenridge; Bella Terra on East Corkscrew Road, and Spring Run at The Brooks on Coconut Road.
Two Bella Terra residents spoke in support of the proposed crosswalks and safety improvements being proposed in their community.
In other business, the Board discussed the possibility of adding an additional workshop to the process to allow for peer review. They also discussed the process for completing the 8 member board. Since a state licensed architect has not come forward to date, this will have to go back to the Village Council for a decision.
Additional information is available in the minutes of this meeting.
