Suzie Eslick touching the plaque which honors her late husband Don Eslick
Many Estero residents turned out to help celebrate Lee Health at Coconut Point’s 5th anniversary on November 30.
As part of their formal program, they honored Don Eslick, calling him a civic provocateur and unveiled a plaque on the wall “Dedicated in memory of ‘Mr. Estero’ whose passionate advocacy for healthcare contributed to the development of Lee Health Coconut Point.”
Don was the founding Chairman of the Estero Council of Community Leaders (ECCL) in 2002, a “grass roots” community organization which addressed quality of life issues. As part of that effort, he organized a Hospital Committee which was instrumental in the ultimate development of Lee Health at Coconut Point.
