- 40-gallon garbage can weighing fewer than 50 pounds.
- No limit on the number of cans.
- Use heavy duty garbage bags for additional garbage (50-pound weight limit).
Recycling
- Place loose recyclables in approved containers – no plastic bags.
- Recycling should be paper, cardboard, metal, glass and plastic containers.
- Flatten extra cardboard and place it next to the cart.
Yard Waste
- Must be placed in a container, tied or neatly stacked.
- Each set out should be under 6 feet in length and under 50 pounds.
- Can consists of grass clippings, tree branches, leaves, fallen fruit and dead plants.
Bulk Waste
- Set at the curb next to regular garbage.
- If it doesn’t fit in the truck, the hauler will tag it and come back for it within 3 days.
- Construction debris must be fewer than 2 cubic yards per week.
Household Chemical Waste
- Household chemical waste is not collected curbside.
- Drop these items off at Lee County’s Household Chemical Waste Center at 6441 Topaz Ct., Fort Myers FL, 33966, bring to a collection event or an approved disposal facility.
