One of the priorities of the Estero Forever Foundation is art and cultural centers.
The Koreshan Music Salon, formerly known as the Estero Concert Series, has been bringing many talented musicians to the historic Koreshan Art Hall since 2012. All performers are accomplished classical musicians, many of whom are with the Naples Philharmonic and other esteemed musical groups around the country.
The arrangement with the Koreshan State Park this year has all proceeds from the concert ticket sales going directly to support the park.
The Estero Forever Foundation stepped forward to sponsor the group’s most recent concert so that the musicians would be paid for the time spent in rehearsals as well as for the performance.
The Koreshan Music Salon is proud to support the Koreshan State Park through these concerts. The group also is especially grateful to the Estero Forever Foundation for their support.
The last concert of the season is scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, May 28, at the Koreshan Art Hall, 3800 Corkscrew Road. Details to follow.
Additional background
Koreshan Music Salon Artistic Directors Boris Sandler and Bella Gutshtein picked the venue as it honors the Koreshan Unity Settlement which considered art and music an integral part of their lives.
Bella became interested in developing a cultural center in the historic Art Hall in 2011 and brought a New York architect to the Hall to ensure that it would provide the proper acoustics for chamber music.
The concerts feature Bella performing on a restored 1885 Steinway grand piano which was used by Koreshans in numerous concerts during their golden age.
This concert series provides the cultural environment envisioned by the Koreshans for the enjoyment of the residents and visitors of today.
