EHS 2020The Estero Historical Society is looking for volunteers with unique experience.  With the departure of long-time volunteers, they need help with the following:

Librarian/Archivist:

The Archivist-Librarian performs a variety of professional tasks involving the acquisition,

accession, organization, and preservation of Historical Society archival and library materials; ensures their accessibility to the public; and performs research in support of Historical Society operations.

Docent Job Description

Docents develop and implement history-based experiences, including tours, in the Historical Society’s cottage and schoolhouse that are social, participatory, playful, multisensory, and personally relevant to tour participants. Docents must be interested in and willing to facilitate tours for PreK–12 students, youth, and adults using conversation and varied kinds of interaction (movement, sound/music, tactile, etc.) to achieve identified goals for specific tour plans.

Copywriter/Editor

Proofreading, researching/fact checking, writing, and editing copy conforming to the Historical Society’s mission, message, and brand. Content will include Historical Society publications (e.g. newsletters and annual reports), marketing materials (e.g. direct mail, email and advertisements), event-related collateral (e.g. exhibit guides, programs and invitations), fundraising materials (e.g. proposals, grant applications and sponsorship packages), the Historical Society’s website and social media outlets, and speeches for various Historical Society executives with distinct constituents/audiences.

Content Writer

A Content Writer handles the ideation and creation of compelling content including website copy, white papers, blog posts, social media content, and product/service descriptions. A Content Writer is responsible for adding value by actively engaging customers/stakeholders and maintaining a cohesive brand voice.
