Florida Cancer Specialists

Workshop

Representatives for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute presented their plans for an infusion center to be located east of US 41 and south of Pelican Colony Blvd., adjacent to Extra Space Storage.

They are planning a single-story facility with a public space healing garden. The building as proposed will have 3 tile roof towers to add undulation, with stucco and stone elevations. There are decorative corbels over the building windows.

Since their public information meeting presentation, they have straightened and extended the frontage sidewalks for better pedestrian access, and will be using pavers in the sidewalks.

In addition, they have added stone to the center element, added color blocking with tan and white accent trims to break up the building and reduced the size of the windows. They also added trellises to the back of the building with decorative buttons over the windows.

They plan to maintain the existing buffers and add royal palms to flank their drive entrances, with accent palms and soft plant materials along the entrance to the building and in the healing garden. They also removed the wall originally planned in the garden to allow better viewing of the adjacent lake and added palm trees for shade.

The monument signage will include a stone base, stucco and a metal cap.

Florida Cancer Specialists have over 100 locations in their network.  (Presentation)
