Corkscrew Road

FDOT will inform the community about planned improvements to the I-75 at Corkscrew Road interchange in a Public Information Meeting at 5 p.m., Thursday, August 16 in the Village Council Chambers at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle.

During the meeting FDOT staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. People attending the meeting can watch a project slide show, review project displays and speak one-on-one with members of the project team. The meeting will be an open house format, so no formal presentation will be made.

The project is an interim operational improvement to the existing interchange. This improvement will help to accommodate the existing traffic demand and extend the useful life of the interchange. The interim improvements include the construction of one additional left turn lane in each direction along Corkscrew Road, creating dual left turn lanes for the eastbound and westbound left turn movements accessing the I-75 on ramps. The interim interchange improvements also include extending the I-75 on and off ramps approximately 1,500 feet in all four quadrants to improve acceleration and deceleration to and from I-75. The existing signals at the ramp terminals will be replaced with new signals, and existing high mast lighting will be replaced by new high mast lighting.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons requiring special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or people who require translation services (free of charge) should contact FDOT project manager Roxann Lake at (863) 519-2990 orroxann.lake@dot.state.fl.us at least 7 days prior to the meeting.
