Lee County

Residents will be able to safely and responsibly dispose of household chemical waste from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday.  Items will not be accepted either before or after that time period.

Acceptable items include:

  • Rechargeable/lead acid batteries.  Non-rechargeable batteries are garbage.
  • Liquid oil based paint; hard or empty paint cans are garbage
  • Liquid latex paint; hard or empty paint cans re garbage
  • Household cleaning chemicals
  • Pool supplies
  • Flares; ammunition
  • Electronics, TV, printers, monitors, scanners, etc., small items/cords/cables can be disposed of as garbage
  • Compact fluorescent lamps
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Automotive fluids; the containers can be returned to the residents if needed
  • Aerosol cans; empty aerosol cans can be disposed of as garbage.

Items which are not accepted:

  • Card board boxes
  • Prescription medications
  • Tires
  • Empty containers
  • Bulky items, furniture, mattresses, etc.
  • Automotive parts
