Estero is fully prepared. All of our ditches and flow ways have been inspected this week and are well-maintained to carry storm flows.
Estero Recreation Center will open a Safe Haven at 3 p.m. tomorrow. A Safe Haven will provide a safe place for anyone who does not feel secure in their housing situation and who perhaps does not have a friend’s home or a family member’s home to go to. Estero Recreation Center is located at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd.
It is very important for residents who may experience wind damage or water intrusion in their homes to understand that permits are required for repairs in the Special Flood Hazard area. Please contact the Community Development Department at 239-221-5036 for assistance with permit requirements and resources
Free sand and sandbags are available at 20921 County Road, on the corner of US 41 and County Road across from the Estero Fire Station.
In the event of heavy rain, it will take the infrastructure time to drain. Please use caution and don’t drive through flooded roads. If the roadway is covered with water, take another route.
