If you are a business, nonprofit, homeowner or renter who suffered damages as a result of Hurricane Ian, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) may be able to assist you with a low interest disaster loan to help repair or replace property not covered by insurance or other sources.
Even though Florida did not receive an additional extension, there is still time to apply for physical damages incurred from Hurricane Ian. Business working capital application period will be open until June 29, 2023.
The Estero Disaster Recovery and Business Recovery Center (DRC) is still open and they continue to urge survivors to get in-person assistance. DRC staff can help with appeals, reconsiderations, upload documents, understand and overcome denials, fill out 4506-C’s, etc.
There are three options to apply:
- Online at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov
- Visit a recovery center DRC
- Request a paper application by calling Customer Service at 800-659-2955 (dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services)
**Applicant must provide a written explanation addressing their inability to meet the filing deadline. The determination for accepting the application will be made once it is received**
The Disaster Recovery Center in Estero is located in the Village Hall Council Chambers first floor, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle near the entrance to Estero Park. Hours are 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday, except when there is a public meeting in progress.
