FEMA

If you are a Hurricane Ian survivor who suffered damage to your property, you must apply for federal disaster assistance by January 12.

Even if you were originally denied assistance, the Disaster Recovery Center may be able to offer you different options or programs that would apply to your situation.  The Village strongly suggests that if you have been initially denied by FEMA that you come into the Disaster Recovery Center to review your file and explore options with the FEMA staff in person.

A Disaster Recovery Center may be able to help you:

  • Apply for assistance. You may also apply for FEMA assistance online or apply/check your status by phone 1-800-621-3362.
  • Learn more about disaster assistance programs.
  • Learn the status of your FEMA application.
  • Understand any letters you get from FEMA.
  • Find housing and rental assistance information.
  • Get answers to questions or resolve problems.
  • Get referrals to agencies that may offer other assistance.
  • Learn about Small Business Administration (SBA) programs
