The Census Bureau is working to find nearly two thousand part-time, temporary, Lee County Census Takers to work this spring and summer. This opportunity is a perfect fit for anyone looking to earn extra income this summer, while helping our Village to gain extra federal funds, each year, for the next ten years!
Those interested, should apply as soon as possible to be considered. Census Takers set their own hours; this position pays $18.00 per hour – up to 40 hours per week – and 58 cents per mile. Training is paid and will begin sometime in March. Those interested can apply at https://www.census.gov/jobs.
It is crucial for Lee County to get a complete count of every individual living in Lee County – regardless of their citizen status, age, or residency. Our share of federal funds, for each of the next ten years, will be based on our April 1, 2020 population and will determine the amount of funds we receive for roads, schools, hospitals, EMS, Fire, Police, Disaster Relief, etc. – as well as possibly increasing our representation in Congress.
Census Takers are need to help reach potential applicants in the Village of Estero, especially our gated communities, as well as in South Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, and Captiva.
