The Lee County Charter Review Commission will hold their third public meeting located in District 3.

Purpose: To review the Home Rule Charter & propose any amendments or revisions that may be advisable for placement on the general election ballot.

The Commission is seeking input from the public regarding any proposed amendments to the County Charter.

“We want to ensure citizens have access to the Commission, and we want input from across the county,” said Ed Volz, who was elected commission chair at its inaugural meeting March 11.

Members: Lee County Charter Review Commission comprises 15 members appointed by Lee County Commissioners. They serve for 18 months with the purpose of reviewing the Home Rule Charter and proposing any amendments or revisions, which may be placed on the general election ballot.

Previous charter items discussed:

  • Single Member Districts
  • Non Partisan Elections
  • Election of County Manager
  • Expanding Board to 7 members (2 at large, 5 single member districts)

 

 

Future meetings will be held in Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres.
