Council will conduct a first public hearing for the tentative ad valorem tax rate and budget at their meeting at 5:30 p.m. on September 5.
Following other items on the agenda, a workshop will be conducted regarding the possible purchase of property along the Estero River. This is 62 acres of land on the northeast corner of Corkscrew Road and US 41 which extends north to Judeth Lane and east to the railroad tracks. This property includes a significant portion of the Estero River. This purchase is being considered in response to residents requests to embrace Estero’s historic heritage and protect the environment.
The Village website has added a new web page dedicated to providing information about this property so that residents may be informed about everything associated with this possible purchase, including the location, history of the site, purchase price, vision for this property and FAQs. Residents may access this page here: http://estero-fl.gov/public-works/land-purchase/.
Please Note: This meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. Village Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Village Hall, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle, near the entrance to the Estero Community Park.
