On June 18, 2018, Congressman Francis Rooney announced co-sponsoring H.R. 6113, introduced by Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, to address unresolved unique zip code creations in the Village of Estero.
Congressman Rooney stated, “When the Village of Estero was incorporated in 2014, the post office did not create a unique zip code for all of Estero. This has caused many problems with mail delivery in Estero, negatively impacting its citizens. After listening to the concerns of constituents in Estero, and discussing the issue with Councilman Nick Batos, I joined with Congressman Diaz-Balart and four of my other colleagues to introduce a bill to create a unique zip code where necessary.”
This bill will need to go through both the House and the Senate for approval.
Estero currently has five zip codes in the village: 33928, 33929, 33967, 34134 and 34135.
Councilman Batos has Zip Codes as one of his assigned Areas of Strategic Concern.
